We offer a range of professional development activities to people who work with parents and other caregivers of infants and young children. Activities can take place either at The Parent-Infant Study Center in Albuquerque, NM or at other locations as arranged.
The 2011-2012 Seminars are fully enrolled. Four day-long seminars are being offered in Albuquerque on September 22, 2011, November 17, 2011, January 26, 2012 and March 22, 2012 for a total of 24 specialized inservice hours addressing theoretical foundations and direct service skills related to family-centered, relationship-based practice with infants, toddlers and their parents/primary caregivers. Interested practitioners were able to register for the entire series or any of the four seminars. Seminar descriptions can be downloaded here.
As new professional development seminars become available through The Parent-Infant Study Center information will be posted here and e-mailed to those who have asked to be included on the Center's e-mail list.
Ongoing Group or Individual Reflective Consultation is offered for those professionals who are interested in improving their relationship-based, infant-parent/caregiver reflective practice. Sessions are designed to so that hours can be included as part of an endorsement portfolio. Sessions are provided for both supervisors and direct service providers. Groups are forming now! Individuals can inquire at any time about begining a regular schedule of reflective consultation. Click here or contact the Study Center for more information.
Competency-based, Interactive, Didactic Training Seminars are custom designed on request to meet the needs of individual agencies, programs, and learning communities primarily in the greater Albuquerque area. As possible, sponsors of Training Seminars are encouraged to collaborate with community partners from outside of their own agencies to request training so that over time we support one another to grow a more competent, connected, and coordinated system of caring for our families with infants and toddlers. Some examples of training topics offered can be viewed by clicking here.
